Gossip Girl ends after two successful seasons at HBO Max. The renewal of the show for the third season which many people were awaiting isn’t going to happen as the show gets cancelled. This news came on social media as the co-creator of the show broke the news.

The announcement for show’s cancellation

This show was spearheaded by Joshua Safran, Stephanie Savage and Josh Schwartz. Joshua announced on his Twitter that “So here’s the goss: it is with the heaviest of hearts that I have to announce GOSSIP GIRL will not be continuing on HBO Max. The EPs and I will forever be grateful to: the network and studio for their faith and support; the writers for their devious brains and dexterous talent; the superstar cast for being the greatest of collaborators and friends; and the crew for their hard work, dedication, and love for the project.”

Joshua Safran further added:

“This was honestly the greatest set I ever worked on, top to bottom,” Safran continued. And he isn’t letting the show’s cancellation at HBO Max be the final word as he revealed, “We are currently looking for another home, but in this climate, that might prove an uphill battle, and so if this is the end, at least we went out on the highest of highs.“

Safran ended his note by thanking the streamers for watching his show and making it a hit, and also asked the audience online to watch the finale of Gossip Girl season 2 the next thursday. He thanked the audience for sticking by and also hinted that he might get the ‘GO’ from some other channel to continue this show for the next season, but not here.
