The Plot of A Spy Among Friends

The series of ITVX A Spy Among Friends is based on espionage and it based on a true story. Kim Philby & Nicholas Elliot were together as spies who are friends too. But, little did Nicholas knew, that his friend and fellow Kim was going against him and Nicholas is being betrayed.

Harold ‘Kim’ Philby was born in 1912 and very famous all over for his intelligence as a British Officer & being a Soviet Union’s double agent. He was an integral part of the Soviet undercover force during the WW2 and Cold war and he espionaged classified information about British forces to the Russians. He was recruited into Cambridge five spy ring.

Kim got his education from Trinity College and Westminster School in Cambridge, United Kingdom. Later on, he become a journalist but caught the eye of British secret agencY MI6 and was recuited by them. Harold worked closely with the British intelligence agencies and their close allies the Americans. But he didn’t stay true to his soil and got sold in the hands of the Soviets. He secretly passed classfied British and American military intelligence to the Russians.

He was captured in 1963 by the british forces but somehow he managed to flee to Moscow, where he eventually died in 1988.
