UFC 285: Jon Jones vs Francis Ngannou, will it happen? That has been the question on the minds of all the fans of UFC all over the world. There has been a lot of speculation going on with this event. It is being said that Dana White Fancis Ngannou on the main card of UFC 285 but will he be able to pull Jonny ‘Bones’ Jones to the octagon back again, that is yet to be seen.

Sonnen backs Jones

UFC great Chael Sonnen has backed Jones to win this fight, if it were to happen. Sonnen said that he’d bet on Jones on any fight scenario. According to Chael, Jonny would beat even Tyson Fury in the ring. His exact words were:

I would bet on Jon Jones in anything. I might lose my money, but I would bet on him in anything… I don’t say this with exaggeration, but this is true. If Jon was entering Abu Dhabi tomorrow and Gordon Ryan was in the bracket, I’d bet on Jones. If he was going to go to heavyweight boxing and face Tyson Fury, I’m going to bet on Jones.

Ngannou takes 69% at odds checker

According to the Odds Checker, Francis is a clear favouite in the speculated fight between Jones & Ngannou. Jones hasn’t been in the ring since 2020 and may have been suffering from ring rust as well as his age which is 35 now. Jones is nowhere close to what he was in his prime, the speed, agility may be faded away that he enjoyed in his light heavy weight fighting days at UFC.

Jones will move u the weight class to heavy weight, and at the age of 35 with ring rust of 2 years, the odds are stacked against him in the fight with Francis Ngannou.

Injury of Francis Ngannou

Ngannou is still recovering from his knee injury in which is blew ACL and MCL. But after going under the knife, report are that Francis is preparing for his return to UFC 285 and wants to put on a show as his contract with the UFC is expiring in 2023. If Nagannou doesn’t show up then Curtis Blaydes will step in to Jon Jones.

There are a lot of ifs and buts on Ngannou v Jones next year, will this fight happen? This is yet to be seen.

Jon Jones and drugs

Another main issue between this fight to materialize between Jon Jones and Francis Ngannou is the drug test which will happen before UFC 285, and keeping in mind the notorious reputation Jon has on failing the drug tests, he might fail again. Which may result in this fight not happening ever.
